Editorial standards
These standards sit behind every essay. They exist because aesthetic care in Australia is a regulated health conversation, not a beauty special.
Independence
The journal does not take bookings and does not share in procedure fees. When a piece is paid, exchanged or otherwise commercially placed, we disclose that in the article and mark the link rel="sponsored".
No testimonials
We do not publish patient reviews, success stories, influencer quotes or before-and-after galleries. Ahpra treats those devices as advertising of a regulated health service when they speak to clinical outcomes.
No outcome guarantees
We do not say a treatment is safe, painless, permanent, scar-free or suitable for everyone. We describe typical consultation topics and known categories of risk in general terms.
Prescription medicines
We do not name Schedule 4 cosmetic products, their nicknames or hashtags. Educational discussion of consultation process is framed as public information, not an advertisement for supply.
Sources
Prefer primary Australian sources: Ahpra, the TGA, state health departments and specialist colleges. Link them with descriptive anchor text. Do not invent statistics.
Corrections
If we get a fact wrong, email the editors. We date substantial updates on the article page.
